The All-American Bowl is held annually in the month of January at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and is broadcast nationally on NBC. It has been a game featuring many of the top high school recruits and is a welcoming party for them before success in college and, potentially, the pros.
Sawchuk, ranked the No. 1 recruit in Colorado for the Class of 2022 by Prep Redzone Colorado, was eighth in the state in rushing yards with 1,786 yards and scored 23 rushing touchdowns for Class 5A powerhouse Valor Christian in 2019. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound running back also caught 13 passes for 143 yards and another score.
Sawchuk is already seeing his stock rise with more than 20 FBS scholarships offered up to this point, per his Twitter page. In two years with Valor Christian, he has amassed 2,481 rushing yards, 217 receiving yards and 35 total touchdowns. He was named First Team All-State by the Colorado High School Activities Association for the 2019 season and honorable mention All-State in 2018. Valor Christian will look to get back to the state championship game in 2020 after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Class 5A state playoffs last season, and they will try to do so this year with first-year head coach Donnie Yantis leading the team.
