We chatted with him about himself as a player, his college interest and his pitch to college coaches, and much more.
Get to Know Lumen Koumodji
Koumodji is a 6’2 260-pound defensive lineman on the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles who plays on both sides of the football. In his junior season, he played defensive tackle and offensive right tackle He said to the people outside of Bloomington Kennedy football, that he has a high football IQ and brings “grit” to the table as he can get off his defenders pretty easy to make a key tackle for the Eagles. His biggest strengths on the football field are his hand game techniques he uses to get off his defenders quickly.
Favorite Part About His Positions
Lumen said his favorite part about the positions he plays is the aggressiveness you need to have to play both positions, which it states clearly that Koumodji has that aggression to finish his blockers or defenders.
College Interest/His Pitch for Playing College Football
Currently, Komodji hasn’t received any offers on the table, but we at Northstar Football News asked him what his “pitch” would be to the college coaches out there looking in the class of 2021. “I am an athletic big man that can adapt to any situation and I’m willing to give it my all to my team to succeed,” he said in his pitch.
Improvements Lumen’s Making This Offseason
Koumodji’s Eagles coaches said for him to “live and breathe” in the weight room. He said either toning up or agility work, it will all help out as Kennedy finished 2-6 last season looking to improve in 2020.
Lumen’s Mentor
Lumen’s biggest mentor is his linemen coach Matt Hamilton who has taught Lumen that if you “work hard enough, you can accomplish anything” He told Northstar Football News.
Learning About Himself Last Season
Koumodji said thriving through the biggest adversity and being able to preserve during the bad times will ultimately lead you to success in the end on the football field.
