Steady Brawl for Section 3 9-man
Meeting for the second time this season, the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots and the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines met up again for a chance to go to State. It was a fairly even defensive battle in the first half, but Mountain Lake struck first in the second quarter with an Abraham Stoesz 12 yard run, and held the HBC out of the end zone to end the first half. Mountain Lake poured it on in the second half with two more Stoesz touchdowns from 4 and 79 yards out and capped the scoring with a Micah Holmberg dive into the end from one yard. The Patriots were able to break the goose egg late in the game with Tyson Bork pounding his way in from 17 yards out, rounding the score at 28-6.
Players Highlighted from MLA:
Quarterback/Defensive Back- Abraham Stoesz found the seams in the defense and burst through them for his 3 scores, also showed he can throw a good deep ball.

Offensive/Defensive Lineman- Isaac Grev controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides, opening holes and making stops in the backfield.
Players Highlighted from HBC:
Quarterback/Linebacker- Gavin Wysong ran the ball hard and threw the ball around pretty well. Flew around the field and made almost every tackle on defense.
Defensive Lineman/Wide Receiver- Jax Wysong was a good target for the quarteback and held his ground on the defensive line.
