A battle of the unbeatens for a trip to the State Title Game, great story line for this semifinal game between the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines and the Win-E-Mac Patriots. Mountain Lake Area was the Section 3 Champion, while Win-E-Mac was the Section 6 in 9-man. The Wolverines were returning from a State Runner-up campaign last season, Win-E-Mac brought a young team to the semifinal game. The experience played a huge role in a big 45-6 win for Mountain Lake.
Mountain Lake scored on their first possession of the game, handing the ball off to RB Mace Herrig for a 3 yard burst. After forcing a Patriot turnover on downs, Herrig took another handoff for a 23 yard score on their next possession. QB Abraham Stoesz kept the ball himself for a 38 yard scamper for the third score. Before the end of the half, Stoesz hit TE Adam Karschnick for a 21 yard strike, putting the score at the half 24-0. The Wolverines did not led up in the second half, Stoesz found WR Jon Faber through the air for a 19 yard score. Stoesz again kept to himself for a 9 yard score. Herrig put a cap on the Wolverine scoring with a 28 yard run himself. The Patriots put themselves on the board in the 4th quarter, handing the ball of to RB Nathan Fortmann for a 4 yard score to end the game at 45-6 in favor of Mountain Lake Area.

Running Back- Nathan Fortmann did a good job gaining positive yardage on most plays and helping block against the pressure put on by the defense.
