BOLD Fights off a Strong Canby team.
Canby was riding a 6-game win streak rolling into the Section Championship against the BOLD Warriors. The Warriors were looking to get back to the State tournament after a Runner-up appearance last season. The first half was a stellar defensive battle, BOLD scoring their only touchdown running behind a Gavin Vosika 8 yard run out of the Wildcat formation that they incorporated more this game. The Warriors would follow in the second half with Vosika running another one in from 16 yards out and tossing another touchdown to Blake Plass from 59 yards out. Canby held BOLD to their lowest scoring game all year at 21-0.
Players highlighted from BOLD:
Running Back/Defensive Back- Gavin Vosika became the focal point on offense with injuries starting to add up on the team. He ran the ball hard and elusive, and showed he can throw the ball, having been involved in all three scores.
Wide Receiver/Defensive Back- Matthew Moorse played lights out defense in man-to-man defense, held his receivers out of the game.
Offensive/Defensive Lineman- Andrew Sheehan made a lot of tackles out of the defensive lineman position, and opened the seams offensively.
Offensive/Defensive Lineman- Brady Riddler caused a lot of problems in the backfield for the opposing offense and also helped the run game on offense.
Players highlighted from Canby:
Linebacker- Brayden Gravdal was everywhere on the field for the defense, had his hand in on almost every tackle.
Offensive/Defensive Linemen- Josh Steffan, Dylan Bruns, & Shane Noyes– all of these Lineman for the Lancers just click well together on both sides of the ball, whether opening or plugging the holes on either side of the ball.
