For the third time in four seasons, the state tournament expert picks segment concluded with co-champions.
For the third time in four seasons, Minnesota Score’s Wally Langfellow was one of the top prognosticators.
Langfellow correctly predicted six of the seven games in Prep Bowl XXXVI to tie Chris Murphy of the Fargo Forum for the best overall record. Langfellow also tied for the best record in 2014 and 2015.
Murphy went 5-2 in the state championship games and finished with the same 38-11 (.776) record as Langfellow. The co-champions differed on only the Class AAAAA title contest, won by Owatonna.
WCCO Radio’s Steve Thomson equaled Langfellow’s 6-1 Prep Bowl mark, finishing one game behind the co-champions. He was the only expert to select Pierz to defeat St. Croix Lutheran in Class AAA.
