The Edina Hornets are off to their best start in 20 years and hope to keep the momentum going against Shakopee.
My eyes will be on the top junior recruit in the state – offensive tackle Quinn Carroll. Carroll is on the radar of Division-I programs across the country. Some of his recent offers include Oklahoma, Indiana and Oregon. On defense, linebacker Nick Bloom has developed into one of the best linebackers in the state and has helped the Hornets pitch two straight shut outs.
Shakopee has an explosive receiver running routes for the Sabers. Garrett Mitchell has been held in check for the most part the first half of the season but at any time can break open a game.Linebacker Connor Raines averages over ten tackles a game for the Sabers’ defense.
It's been an up and down season so far for the Sabers. If the defense plays like it did in their two victories they might be able to pull the upset. If not, the Hornets could open up a big lead early. — Brian Jerzak (@brijerzak), NFN Staff Writer
