Valtierrez wants to repeat the success he and Fridley had in 2017.
“Our season went extremely well as a whole as we got back to the section title game and to State,” Valtierrez explained to Northstar Football. “We had a goal of the section title game set, and to make it to state again was a great feeling and accomplishment. I believe the highlights our season were getting the rematch on St Paul Central and winning this time on all sides of the ball. Beating De La Salle to get to the title game. Then our last one would be beating Highland at home to win the section and go to state. I received an All District award and this is why we play award from our section. This off-season I've been keeping busy with baseball, open gyms, and the weight room. I've been looking to improve my speed this off-season as I see it can allow me to cover more area in the zone on defense or if I need to run with a back in man.”
