The Rebels had to reload most of their starting-22 after the 2015 season and subsequently advanced to the Class AAA state semifinals before losing to Rochester Lourdes. They return a lot more experience in 2017.
Three of four defensive linemen and two linebackers return in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton’s front seven, but All-State linebacker and leading tackler Ryan Poehls will need to be replaced. Cornerback Austin Bitker is the only starter on the back end of the defense who returns from last fall.
All five offensive linemen, led by tackle Hunter Macziewski, are back along with junior tight end Bryce Anderson. The entire offensive backfield will be gone because of graduation, but the running lanes and pocket protection should be there early and often for D-G-F.
