The drive for five — only Stephen-Argyle has won five-straight championships in Minnesota high school football history. The Superlarks get the opportunity to equal that feat next season, albeit with an inexperienced roster.
Coach Gary Sloan will have to find replacement for more than two-thirds of his starting lineup from 2016, including Christophor Bain. Bain was a one-man wrecking crew on both sides of the ball the past two seasons for Grand Meadow.
Zach Myhre is the player who could take over Bain’s leadership role. He led the team in tackles last season, while also rushing for over 1,100 yards with 17 touchdowns. Senior Kyle Oehlke is the other starter back on both offense (center) and defense (end), but until the 50-game winning streak and championship run is halted, no other team is worthy of the top billing in 9-Man.
